Passionate for Haute Couture, which he considered an art form in and of itself, having the same standards of creativity, talent and perfection, Salvador Dali collaborated with fashion designers as prestigious as Coco Chanel and Christian Dior.
On several occasions, he illustrated covers for fashion magazines such as Vogue and Harper's Bazaar.
In 1946, the Christmas painting graced the cover of Vogue magazine’s December issue. This painting is divided into two perfectly symmetrical halves that, through stereoscopic effect, depict a woman’s face. The column is the central element with a delicate pair of sculpted lips and nose.
Parfums Salvador Dali drew inspiration from this painting to create a fragrance collection whose sculptured bottles reflect the majestic form of the column.
